Sandbridge Beach: Sandbridge beach is situated in the southern part of the city of Virginia Beach, Virginia. A city park is located at the very end of the beach.
The length of the beach is about 4.5 miles and it is occasionally prone to tropical storms. The Sandbridge Market is a popular feature of this area. The beach offers a lot of activities such as parasailing, paragliding, fishing and sun bathing.
Westmoreland State Park: Westmoreland State Park lies within Westmoreland County, Virginia. It is one of the six original parks opened in June 1936. It was built by Civilian Conservation Corps in 1930s. It is close to the birthplace of George Washington and Stratford Hall, the birthplace of Robert E. Lee. The park is about 1.5 miles long and is situated along the Potomac River, covering 1,1311 acres of land. It offers hiking, camping, cabins, fishing, boating and swimming. The park has 133 camping sites.

The Pentagon: The Pentagon is world’s largest office building by floor area and is the headquarters of the United States Department of Defense. It is located in Arlington County, Virginia. It was designed by George Bergstrom, an American architect. The area includes a five-acre central plaza, which is shaped like a pentagon and is often called “ground zero”. It has five sides, five floors above ground, and two basement levels. On September 11, 2001, the western side of Pentagon was attacked, killing 189 people.
Virginia State Capitol: The Virginia State Capitol is 215 years old and is the seat of state government of Virginia. It is one of only eleven capitols in the United States without an external dome. It is located in Richmond, the third capital of Virginia. It was completed during 1788. The surrounding area of the Capitol is known as the Capitol Square. It contains several monuments, including, George Washington Equestrian Monument, statue of Thomas Jefferson, Andrew Lewis, and Patrick Henry and Virginia Civil Rights Memorial.
Abby Aldrich Rockefeller Folk Art Museum: Abby Aldrich Rockefeller Folk Art Museum was founded in 1957. It was initially based on donations from Abby Aldrich Rockefeller. It is located in Colonial Williamsburg, Virginia.
First Landing State Park: First Landing State Park is located on the Chesapeake Bay and is most visited state park. It is visited by more than one million people each year. It is located near the site of the first landing on April 26,1607 of Christopher Newport and the Virginia Company colonists. It was originally known as Seashore State Park before it was renamed First Landing State Park in1997. The park offers camping, fishing, hiking, biking and swimming. The total area of the park is 2,888 acres and is governed by Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation. The park’s natural area was listed as a National Natural Landmark in 1965.
