The Florida Panhandle Map shows region in northwestern part of the ‘Sunshine State’. Sugar-white beaches, Southern hospitality, clear natural springs, spectator sports, and bountiful seafood conjure up the culturally diverse and mostly overlooked region in Florida – the Panhandle.

Dip your toes into the white sands and azure waters of the Gulf Coast, gallery-hop in history-rich Pensacola, practice laissez-faire attitude to life with local anglers in Steinhatchee, discover the rugged wilderness of St. Vincent Island, and bunker down for balmy and starry nights in charming Apalachicola – the largest river in the region.

Tallahassee, the capital of Florida, is the largest city in the region and the Pensacola Metropolitan Area is the most populated area in the Panhandle. Besides a few inland cities and resort towns, the Florida Panhandle is a rural area where plenty of good ol’ people have strong ties with traditional Southern culture.

The borderline gaudy Panama City Beach is ground zero for college kids from up north who suck down Jell-O shots faster than Coca-Cola on spring break. The crowded beaches in front of high-rise condominiums have a pulsating nightlife the Emerald Coast is known for. On the other hand, the Forgotten Coast emits laid-back vibe where the goal is to enjoy simple things in life: nature and local culture.

The climate of Florida Panhandle is subtropical with rainy, muggy summers and dry winters. The shoulder seasons of spring and fall have mild temperatures. Interstate 10 is the primary interstate highway in the the region.
