Villa Clara is one of the provinces of Cuba, located in the central region of the island. The capital city of Santa Clara is the 5th most populous Cuban city, with a population of 250,000 and is one of the most visited places in the country.


Villa Clara is situated in the center of the north of the island of Cuba and is one of the most important Tourist spots in Cuba. It is one of the most secluded but beautiful destinations in Cuba.

The total land area of Villa Clara is 7920 square kilometers. The capital city of Villa Clara is Santa Clara which is also known as ‘ the white rose of the Jardines del Rey Archipelago. Villa Clara is easily accessible because the national highway and the central railway line pass through it.

    • La Caridad Theater is known for its architectural value.

    • Jose Marti Library
    • Che Guevara square, in the western part of the city, has a mausoleum where the

remains of the legendary heroic Guerrilla and his comrades lie.

  • Loma del Capiro and the monument to the Tren Blindado or the armored train is another hot spot tourist destination. Here, battles were waged against the Batista tyranny.
  • Close to Santa Clara is the municipality of Remedios. This place is declared a National monument since it contains relics such as the Parroquia Mayor.
  • The Buen Viaje church, the house of the Arcades, and the birthplace of Alejandro Garcia Caturia are present here.

Beaches in Villa Clara:

Most of the beaches in Villa Clara are yet unexplored. But, Cuba tourism has started opening these beaches to tourists. The city has a stretch of 17 kilometers of beach which expand over the coastal lines of Santa Maria Cayos, Fragoso, Cabos, Ensenachos, and Frances Cayos.
