 The city of Stockton is located in the northern San Joaquin Valley, a sub-region of the Central Valley, in Northern California. Founded in 1850, it is the seat of San Joaquin County and the 13th largest city in the state.

Stockton Metropolitan Airport is served by regional airlines.

The Amtrak station in Stockton is connected by San Joaquin line.

Interstate 5 and State Route 99 pass through the city limits. Moreover, the city is the western terminus of SR 26 and SR 88.

Late spring (April-May) and fall (September-November) is an ideal time to enjoy several cultural festivals and sample fresh produce like berries and fruits.

 

Things to Do in Stockton 

The city is famous for miles of navigable waterways and fresh agricultural produce. The Haggin Museum exhibits 19th- and 20th-century artworks and houses collections linked with local Valley history and California history. The ornate Bob Hope Theater is a popular venue for live concerts and dance performances. Locals head to Stockton Arena to see the puck go over the line. Childrens Museum of Stockton and Pixie Woods are ideal wonderlands for little ones.

 

Higher Education Institutions in Stockton

Stockton is home to the oldest university in the state, University of the Pacific, since 1923. Its school of Pharmacy and Health Sciences is located in Stockton. National University, the second largest nonprofit university in California, has a campus located in Stockton. San Joaquin Delta College is a two-year community college with undergraduate programs. Humphreys College, Christian Life College, and Carrington College are other notable post-secondary institutions.
