The United Arab Emirates Education from primary to secondary level is universal and compulsory. The educational system of United Arab Emirates offers education to both boys and girls of the country from primary to university level. The literacy rates of the country is very high and are comparable to that of the developed countries
To spread education in United Arab Emirates, the Government has taken a number of steps. The government schools, colleges and universities of United Arab Emirates provide free education to the students of the country.
The private education sector of UAE is also quite well developed which presently accounts for nearly 40 per cent of the population of students. The Ministry of Education has published a policy that focuses on a plan for educational development in the UAE till the year 2020, which was based on a number of five – year plans. The needs of the students are given more importance in this strategy, especially through the encouragement of self-learning and incessant educational programs.
More than half a million students are now studying at school or in college. While there are thousands of students, who have are enrolled abroad, at the expense of the Government, in courses of higher education.
