Norfolk Island Airport is the main airport in the island country and serves as a landing ground to the flights operating from cities like Sydney, Brisbane, Auckland and Newcastle. Norfolk Island travel gives the information about the island’s only airport.

Norfolk Island airport is one of the principal contributors to the island’s economy. Norfolk Island travel unfolds the beauty of the island, which is considered as the jewel of South Pacific region.

Mr Glenn Robinson is the Norfolk Island airport manager and is assisted by deputy airport manager William Menzies. The department of Works Foreman and Grounds and Maintenance are headed by Sidney Cooper and Charles Menghetti respectively. At present only two airlines serve the island namely the Norfolk Air and Air New Zealand. Several steps are being commissioned to improve the flying conditions.

The landing system of the airport was formed by Honeywall and Pelorus Navigation Systems to ensure better landing grounds in poor weather conditions. The airport is approved by the US Federal Aviation Administration and Civil Aviation Safety Authority. The Norfolk Island Airport also has the international certificate from USA to use the local public area augmentation system. The airport will not only allow better landing facilities but will also avoid traffic congestion.
