Laos Geography
Laos Geography shows that located in the Southeast Asian peninsula Laos covers 236,800 square kilometers. 230,800 sq km is consisted of land and 6,000 sq km is water. The Geographic coordinates of Laos are 18 00 N, 105 00 E.

According to Laos Geography the country is mainly consisted of plateau and mountains. Mekong River constitutes the western border. Vientiane, the present capital and Luang Prabang the former capital s situated on the bank of River Mekong. Tropical and subtropical species can be found. The rich vegetation helps the country’s economic growth as well. Most of the part of Laos is still covered with forest.
Natural resources like timber, hydro power, gypsum, tin, gold, gemstones come under the geography of Laos. The country enjoys tropical monsoon with a rainy season from May to November and Dry Season from December to April. Floods and droughts are common to Laos. Geography in Laos is such that it is a completely landlocked country with no direct access to the sea.
