United Arab Emirates Military Survey, established in January 1947, is the national mapping agency of UAE. It is the only agency of UAE involved in processing and dissemination of topographical, aeronautical and nautical information for the country. It provides maps, aeronautical charts, nautical charts, aerial photographs, geodetic control data, etc to various government and private sector organizations. It is a leading geospatial data provider for a large number of users in UAE. For this it has created data sets such as National Digital Terrain Model and the ortho photos, National Geodetic Network, and National Topographic Database. MSD also provides technical advice related to geospatial data requirements and applications.
