The Pitcairn Islands National Flag was designed by Pitcairn Island Council and was officially acquired on 2nd April 1984.

‘Pitcairn Islands’ Coat of Arms is placed on the central point of the right side of the Pitcairn Islands National Flag.

The Union Jack interprets the Island’s association with Great Britain. The buckler of the coat of arms displays the anchor along with the bible.

The anchor symbolizes the marine history of the island while the bible indicates its Christian tradition. The separated shield epitomizes the island arising from the Pacific Ocean and the barrow with the plant on the shield presents the ‘Islands’ cultivation and territory.

Location: The Pitcairn Islands form the southeasternmost part of the geological archipelago of the Tuamotus of French Polynesia.
