Vsetin district is spread over an area of 1,143 kilometers and has a small populace of 147,000 people. A part of the Zlin region, the district of Vsetin is drained by the River Vsetinska Becva and the River Roznovska Becva.

Surrounded by the imposing Vsetinske Hills and the Beskydy and Javorniky Mountains, the region is rich in flora and fauna and has a captivating and enticing scenic beauty that lures people to visit the region of Vsetin from all round the globe.

The towns and the city make up the district of Vsetin. While the town upholds the culture and the tradition of the region, the city is the administrative center of Vsetin. A representation of the classical Renaissance style of architecture is reflected in the chateau of Vsetin. The monumental chateau was reconstructed several times and is presently the site for the local repository of history and ethnography or the history museum.
