Profuse vegetation grows in the rich soil of the volcanic island of Comoros. Comoros Flora has great similarity to the flora of Africa and Madagascar. The maritime tropical climate of the place fosters the growth of various species of Comoros Flora.
As the climate of the islands varies, diversity in the flora of Comoros can be observed. The habitats of the flora include the rain forests and mangrove forests expanding along the coasts of Comoros. The natural habitats of the species are threatened due to volcanic eruptions and soil erosions. Deforestations aggravate the situation further. To preserve the different species of flora of Comoros, the government has taken various forests under conservation zone.
