Patagonia region in Chile has the most dramatic landscape in the entire region. Mother nature is at its best in this region. The Chilean Patagonia is composed mainly of two regions. The northern Aisen and the southern Magallanes.

This region has been isolated from Chile by fierce storms and impassable mountains and can only reached by air or on land via Argentina. Different islands, glaciers, icebergs and mountains together form a spectacular natural setting in this region.

The famous city of Punta Arenas is located in the southern region of Magnellas. The city became famous during the California gold rush. It is the main center for Chile’s wool industry and some of the rich industrialists in the world belong to this region. The port in the Magellan Strait is an important point for shipment of cargoes from Chile and round the world. Magnellas also houses the unique Parque National Torres. This National Park covers and area of 181,000 hectares. Pampas and thick Magnellic forests run along lakes with huge glaciers and icebergs.

National Laguna San Rafeal is located in the southern Aisen part and is one of the major tourist spots in Patagonia. The Torres Del Paine is a mountain range which runs along the borders of the National Park with the same name. The breathtaking waterfalls of Salto Chico and Salto Grande are a sight to see. The well known mountain glaciers like the Grey Pingo, Del Frances and Dickson are in this region. This region is also dotted with many lagoons like the Verde and the Azul lagoons. The mountain lakes like Nordenskjold, Sarmiento, Pingo and Dickson enhance the beauty of this region.

The climate of Patagonia is temperate with rainfall practically all throughout the year. Patagonia in Chile is one of the most beautiful regions, frequented by tourists.
