Chile-the land and people offer such myriad facets to an outsider that it is virtually impossible to demarcate something that is universally recognized as Chilean. Chile means different things to different people.
The land of Chile can readily bring to some ones mind the driest desert of world, the Atacama; to others it may mean the imposing snow-capped Andean mountains. The Chilean population similarly presents a rare homogeneity despite being a mixture of several nationalities and anthropological elements.
The land of Chile can be variously divided into many areas. The regions of Chile can either be segregated by the various latitudes and climatic conditions or east to west according to landforms. Geography of Chile and its climate has had a deep impact on all the aspects of life in Chile whether botanical or zoological. The abundant diversity of the flora and fauna in Chile is astonishing to say the least.
History of Chile has also been very eventful, dominated as it is by various colorful characters. The three different phases of it are the almost prehistoric rich and resplendent culture of the Incas and the Mapuches, the Spanish colonialism, and the independent Chile asserting itself in the World.
