With an enrollment of 14,000 students, it is the largest university in the state. It was founded in 1890 as North Dakota Agricultural College in 1890.

Jamestown College: Located in Jamestown, North Dakota, Jamestown College is a private liberal arts college. It was founded by the Presbyterian Church in 1883. There are about 1,000 students enrolled in the institution. The major academic programs offered include business, accounting, economics, computer science and information technology. The president of the college is Robert S. Badal.
