Shreveport is a city in the U.S state of Louisiana. Founded in 1836 by the Shreve Town Company as a town, it was incorporated as city on March 20, 1839. It became the Confederate capital in April 1865. It is the commercial and cultural center of the Ark-La-Tex and is known as “Gateway to East Texas”. It is the third largest city and the third largest metropolitan area in the state.
