Sharjah is the third largest among the seven states, that constitute the United Arab Emirates and covers an area of 2,600 sq km.

The city is known all over the Arab world for its dedication to art, culture and conservation of the local heritage. Sharjah has more than twenty museums, art galleries and many preserved heritage sites. Some of the popular museums are the Islamic Museum, Sharjah Science Museum, Al Mahata Museum, Sharjah Art Museum and Sharjah archaeological museum.

The emirate of Sharjah spans over the peninsula with the Arabian Gulf to the western end and the Gulf of Oman towards its east. The diverse geography of the region attracts tourists. The city offers some of the most beautiful sceneries and exotic waterfronts.

Blue Souk is the most famous souk in Sharjah that was built in 1979. The Sharjah Municipality carries on the maintenance of the Souk it comprises of 600 shops that sell al types of goods from gold and precious stones to cosmetics, apparel, perfumes and many more. It is situated at Al Majaz, near to the Khalid Lagoon.

The city of Sharjah blends the characteristics of both old and new. In fact the City is adorned by beautiful parks and gardens. modern hotels facing the waterfront, exquisite mosques, lakefront apartment, buildings, restaurants etc.
