The Lost world of Tambun is a popular theme park in Malaysia

The Lost World of Tambun, located in a rainforest in the Malaysian city of Ipoh, is an amalgam of fun, adventure, and rejuvenation. Nestled in lush green hills, the theme park offers a plethora of activities including water sports and excursions along with the opportunity of encountering fierce tigers, watching birds and animals in their natural habitat, and learning about the practice of tin mining. Amusement park, Adventure park, zoo, and hot springs & spa are the alluring features of this Malaysian Disneyland.

History

This theme park was opened to public by the Sunway Group in November 2004.

Lost World of Tambun Attractions

Lost world of Tambun Water Park – This section lets you slip, slide, and splash. The waves surge to a height of three feet in Malaysia’s largest wave pool – the Jungle Wave Pool. Sip refreshing drinks while lying on the white sands and enjoy the warmth of the sun or play volleyball in the Sandy Bay. Hop on a giant tube for a journey over the Adventure River. Ride Malaysia’s longest blow-up tube with the Tube Raiders. The Kids Explorabay is specially designed for kids offering a big and wet interactive play area. Spraying elephants, giant leaning buckets, water curtains, water cannons, and fountains allure the kids.

Lost world of Tambun Adventure Park – This section is the Mecca for thrill-seekers. You can try character-building activities such as base jumping, caving, abseiling, and kayaking at 13 High Rope Course, Leap of Faith, Zip Line, Via Feratta with Abseil, and Wild Woosey.

Lost world of Tambun Amusement Park – The Adventure Express ride gives a quick tour of the park. Go round and round on the Giddy Galleon ride and laugh with wooziness. Take the Dragon Flight for a swinging sensation. Feel the trouble of stormy seas with the Storm Rider, which tilts the ship at 180 degrees and gives you butterfly sensations in the stomach. Lupe’s Adventure, the very first roller coaster of Perak state, evokes excitement. Perak Parade is a miniature train ride for kids.

Petting Zoo – This zoo is home to about 4,000 animals in a natural setting. It’s where visitors can learn about 55 exotic species. Walk through the zoo to encounter raccoons, rabbits, birds, snakes, tortoise, black-eared marmoset, etc.

Tiger Valley – Watch the glorious Siberian tigers prancing around in the verdant surroundings. Tiger Feeding Show is the highlight of this section as you get to see the agility, strength, and power of these big cats.

Tin Valley – Learn about the ancient art of Dulang Washing—the careful process of extracting tin from water and sand. You may also enjoy the Tin Trail and Tin History Walk.

Hot Springs & Spa – After a day-long excursion, take a dip in hot spring waters. This section spoils you with choices: Crystal Pool, Infinity Pool, Top of the World Pool, and Lost World Steam Cave. Foot Spa is a place where you can detoxify your body by walking over therapeutic pebbles. The Geyser of Tambun – which spits out water up to 40 feet – is a soothing treat as the evening lights are accompanied by the outbursts of the geyser.

How to Reach?

By Air – Sultan Azlan Shah Airport (IPH) is the nearest one from the park.

By Train – Ipoh Railway Station is around 12 km away from the theme park. You can reach the park via A13 ring road.

By Road – Plusliner, Konsortium, Star Shuttle, and Transnational are the operators that run buses through the theme park. It is a two-hour drive from Kuala Lumpur.

Best Time to Visit Tambun

Owing to its stable climate, Malaysia can be visited any time of the year. Come to the Lost World of Tambun in February and see the country host its famous Thaipusam festival.

Facts about Lost World of Tambun

This theme park is situated in the midst of lush tropical plants, vines, and creepers.
You can actually pat raccoons and rabbits at the Petting Zoo besides attending Raccoon Feeding Show (12 noon), Tortoise Feeding Show (2 pm), and Wild Feeding Show (3:30 pm).
In the evenings, hot springs under luminous lights turn out to be the best place to spend quality time.

Lost World of Tambun Visiting Hours – It operates all days of the week except on Tuesday. From Monday to Friday, timings are from 11am to 6pm. On weekends and public holidays, timings are from 10am to 6pm.
Lost World of Tambun entrance fee – RM21 for adults and RM16 for children.
Entrance for children under 90 cm is free.
