East Timor Schools are well organized and they receive a lot of help from organizations like the United Nations Trust Fund and the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund. East Timor Schools also receive aid from the Ministry of Education, local organizations and the Ministry of Youth Culture and Sport.

One of the important projects which have been implemented in the development of the East Timor Schools is the 100 schools project which is mainly meant for the teachers and the students of the primary schools. Timor Leste schools believe in providing a certain level of quality education to all the primary level students and this project desires to achieve that mission.

Some of the activities which have been planned by the East Timor Schools during the course of this project are as follows:

  • The proper teaching methods have to be incorporated for the development of the basic skills of the teachers.
  • The establishment of parent teachers association is very necessary in order to create a bridge between the school authorities and the teachers.
  • The appropriate equipments to conduct the various classes is extremely important and needs to be supplied within the correct time to the students and their teachers.
  • The training of the various education staff in the districts is another important factor.

Nino Koni Santana High School is one oft he Timor Leste Schools and is located at the district of Gleno which is a center for coffee cultivation. The school currently has 350 students and 11 local teachers.
