Thailand Geography
The Thailand geography comprises of varied and attractive landscape features. Thailand is a Southeast Asian country. This country is precisely located on the southeastern part of Burma, sharing its borders with the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand.
The totalarea of Thailand occupies an area of 514,000 square kilometers. Out of this the total land area covers 511,770 square kilometers and the water covered area is 2230 square kilometers. The geography of Thailand attract many tourists from different parts of the world.
The countries sharing border with Thailand are Myanmar, Cambodia, Laos and Malaysia. Thailand shares a total of 4863 kilometers with its neighboring countries. The beautiful coastline of Thailand comprises of3219 kilometers. Thailand experiences a tropical, rainy and warm climate from mid May to September. The Thai people enjoy dry and cool northeast monsoon from November to mid March. The southern isthmus part is always hot and humid.
Thailand geography also features variety of landscape. The country includes central plain, Khorat plateau in the east and mountains scattered here and there. The total irrigated land area available to the farmers is 47,490 square kilometers. Natural calamities like droughts and land slides are quite common. The environment of Thailand faces threat from air pollution, water pollution, soil erosion, deforestation and illegal hunting of wild life, which hampers the ecological balance. Thus we can say that the geography of Thailand isbeautiful and picturesque.
