Tajikistan attractions mainly comprise of the mountains, lakes, rivers, and the historical sites. Half of these attractions of Tajikistan are still under the cover as mankind has not been able to reach those areas.
The most prominent among all the tourist attractions around Tajikistan is the Pamir mountains. Due to their magnanimous height they are also referred as roof of the world. These snow covered mountain ranges have been attracting millions of adventurous sports lover from all across the globe to practice mountaineering, skiing, etc.
After Pamirs, it is the Silk Road that tops the chart of attractions in Tajikistan. One of the oldest trade route of silk sellers amidst the high ranges of Pamir and Fann mountains in Tajikistan, it is a historical place that still offers you some reminisces of the old foreign trade between the Tajiks and the Chinese. The picturesque locale is very famous among the tourists who come here to spend some quality time with their loved ones.
Hissar Port which lies in the west of Dushanbe and is only 10 miles away from it is also one of the significant attractions of Tajikistan. The port, which was constructed somewhere in between 16th and 19th century, hosts two madrassahs, a mausoleum, a desolated bastion and a caravanserai.
Fansky Gory or Fann mountains are also one of the largest tourist attractions at Tajikistan. The mountains provide you with some great scenic pleasure that you would cherish forever. The mountains lie in the north west of the country. There also you can enjoy mountaineering, rock climbing, ice climbing, etc.
Other than the above mentioned list of attractions there are many other places that constitute Tajikistan attractions such as museum at Khorog, Buddhist temples and lakes at Penjikent, Barakat market at Dushanbe, etc.
