The England and Wales Cricket Board or the ECB is the governing body of the English cricket. The first Test match in the history of cricket was played between England and Australia in 1877. Since then cricket in England has come a long way. Among the 857 Tests played, England has recorded 298 wins, 250 losses and 309 draws. With this statistics, England is currently holding the second position on the ICC Test rankings. The English team has also secured 217 wins in the 453 One Day Internationals, it has played since the first ODI in 1971. At present, England is at the eighth position on the ICC ODI rankings.
England hosted the first Cricket World Cup in 1975. England has reached the final of the tournament thrice. However, the nation is yet to win a World Cup title. Michael Vaughan will lead the English at the 2007 ICC Cricket World Cup. The players, who have made it to the squad are:
