Estonia Education
Estonia education is an integral part of the social and cultural life of the people of this European country. Education in Estonia was an important facet, on which great importance was laid from the old times.
The educational system in Estonia is divided into primary school, secondary school and high school system. Efforts are being made to increase the number of secondary and high schools in the country.
Estonia education does not only deal with theoretical education. It also lays equal stress on vocational and adult education. In most of the Estonia schools, the medium of instruction is the local Estonian language. However there are some schools, where Russian and several other minority languages are the mediums of instruction. According to a law passed in 1993, education till the ninth grade was made mandatory for all children of the country.
The system of higher education is also very well developed in the country. There are several universities, that provide higher education in various subjects and on various topics.
The higher education system is stratified into a four-year system. There are bachelor degrees, master degrees as well as doctoral degrees, that are offered to the students of the university. With constant upgradation and innovation, education of Estonia is reaching new heights and literacy is almost cent-percent in the country.
