Encompassing a total area of 35, 100 km2Slany has a population of 15,754. A prime district of the Central Bohemian Region, Slany boasts of a rich historical legacy and cultural ancestry. Located in the geographical area of the Prague Plain, Slany is at a distance of 25 km from the capital of Czech Republic, Prague.

The region of Slany has a well written and documented history which reveals the importance of the place since the ancient period of the year of 1239.
