Cyprus Education
Cyprus education has been made compulsory for all students up to the first 9 academic years. Cyprus education system is managed by a comprehensive and well-organized network of schools, colleges and university.
The duration of primary school and high school in Cyprus is 6 years respectively. Gymnasium and Lyceum are the two divisions of education in high school. The duration of both Lyceum and Gymnasium is 3 years. So, education is compulsory for Cypriot national till the end of Gymnasium. After the completion of primary education the students can opt for studying in technical school or else join the gymnasium. After the completion of gymnasium education a student can again opt for studying in technical school rather than studying in Lyceum.
Presently the higher education in Cyprus includes several of private colleges and 2 State Institutions. Higher Technical Institute and Higher Hotel Institute are the 2 higher State Institutions.
