Verdant green in summer and pristine white in winter both aspects of Kaprun, Austria are hauntingly beautiful. In the summertime, the lake is utilized for sailing, swimming, and other water-based pastimes and the mountains furnish a superior background in which to relish the town and the lake. In winter, the lake, in its frozen state, is also used for curling, etc. and once the ice is adequate, you can walk across to the little village of Thumersbach about the end of January.
