The condition of Armenia Health according to Soviet statistics had been immensely improved after the 1988 earthquake and political collapse of the Soviet Union which declined rapidly in the late 1980s.

Currently the Armenian government has concentrated on improving the Health quality of Armenia and has taken up several projects regarding the matter. From 2006 the Armenian government had been emphasizing on the expansion of free healthcare units.

The Yerevan State Medical University is a leading medical university in Armenia. The university every year produces highly qualified doctors and trained nurses who contribute a lot towards Armenia Health . The university Clinic Hospital N3 in Yerevan is the first children’s hospital in Armenia and is one of the leading Health units of Armenia . There are a number of clinics and medical centres functioning within the hospital including Pediatric clinic, orthopedic clinic, clinic of children surgery, etc.

Armenia Health can be classified into the following health units:

  • Hospitals
  • Dentistry
  • Health Associations
  • Medicine and Pharmaceuticals
  • Physicians

According to the Armenian government the range of medical services provided to the people of Armenia would be available in free of cost for disease prevention. The healthcare department at the Yerevan municipality has declared that all government undertaken policlinics responsible for prophylactic treatment of disease must follow this measure.

Armenia Health is not as well developed and well equipped as to compete with the hugely developed health systems present across the globe.
