Nyeri, with around a population of 98,908, is situated 180km north of Nairobi. Nyeri used to be a garrison in the colonial period but soon it turned into a trading center for the white farmers who produced cattle, wheat, and coffee. Nyeri is the administrative headquarter of the central province.
