Manzanillo Cuba



Manzanillo city is situated in the Granma province of South Eastern Cuba. This destination in Cuba is a port city on the Guacanayabo Gulf of the Caribbean sea and is close to the delta of the Cauto river.

Manzanillo is a commercial center and produces sugarcane, rice, and tobacco. The city is named after a deadly poisonous plant called Hippomane Mancinelli. Manzanillo was founded in 1784 and was long a popular center for smuggling.

The beach is ideal for snorkeling and scuba diving because of its nearness to the coral reef. Bayamo, the capital city of the province has an airport for domestic flights, and Manzanillo, the closest city to Marea del Portillo has an International airport.
