Va, the state approximately covers an area of 42,769 square miles. It is served by one of the biggest ports in the world, Norfolk and to the west of this port lies the capital of Virginia, Richmond. Lying on the Atlantic coast, Virginia is bordered by West Virginia and Maryland to its north, Tennessee and North Carolina lie to its south while Maryland and the Atlantic covers its eastern borders. The state of West Virginia also stretches to the west of Virginia where it is joined by Kentucky.
