Romania Christmas is a favorite festival in Romania. Christmas in Romania takes place on 25th December. Romanian Christmas is generally regarded as one of the most vital religious holiday. Easter comes in the beginning of the festival. Carols play an essential part of Romania Christmas. The singing of carols is a very important part of Romanian Christmas festivities.
On the first day of Christmas, Carolers start walking through the streets of their villages and towns. They hold a cardboard and paper star which shows different scenes from the Bible. There is a culture in Romanian heritage that the smallest children of different houses get adorned with beautiful dresses and visit from house to house while singing carols.
The children also recite legends and poems during the entire Christmas season in Romania. A wooden star covered with metal foil is carried by the leader of the group. The star is in decoration with bells and ribbons of different colors. The procession of the carol is very fascinating. People worship their religion, Christianity, with many vows and they hardly do any misdeeds in this span of time. The birth of Great Jesus is celebrated with the communion of people with similar mentality and cultural background. There is a ritual called ' Ignatius', which does a sacrifice of a pig.
