The total area of Guinea is 245,857 square kilometers with a coastline extending for 320 kilometers. The terrain is generally flat coastal plain but has hilly, mountainous interior. The
climate of Guinea is generally hot and humid and has monsoonal type of rainy season spanning from June to November. The climate is also affected by southwesterly winds during winters while the summer season spanning from December to May is affected by northeasterly harmattan winds. These hot and dry harmattan winds reduce visibility during the summer season. Deforestation and inadequate supplies of water is the major environmental concern of Guinea.
