Located in the Central part of Europe the
land and people of Czech Republic occupy a total area of 78,864 square kilometers and there are a total of 10,241,000 people in the Republic. The land of Czech Republic is bordered by Austria on the south, Poland on the north,Germany on the west, and Slovakia on the east. The capital city of the Republic is Prague and the other important cities of Czech include Ostrava, Plzen and Brno.
The land and people of Czech Republic comprises of the original provinces of Czech Silesia, Bohemia and Moravia which is clubbed under one umbrella and called the Czech lands. The Bohemian-Moravian heights separate the plateau Bohemia from the fertile lowlands of Moravia. Mount Sudetes acts as a barrier between Czech Silesia and Moravia. The most important rives that flow through the land of Czech Republic are Elbe and Vltava.
Out of the total
land and people of Czech Republic 95 per cent are Czech Nationals and the rest of the 5 per cent comprises of Poles, Gypsies, Hungarians, Slovaks and Germans. In regards to religion, 40 per cent of the people of Czech Republic are followers of Roman Catholicism but a large portion of the population are not inclined towards any kind of religion.
