The people of Belarus are largely dependent on the manufacturing industries till date. Belarus saw a large scale of immigration from the Russian Soviet Federated Socialist Republic in the post World War II session. The immigrants were attracted by the job openings in the manufacturing industries in Belarus. Agriculture also forms one of the bases of the rich economy of Belarus.
During the World War II, the people of Belarus, Russia were divided into factions. Some of them supported the Nazis, while some had their support for the Soviet Union. There were mass killings of the Belarus civilians by the Nazis in the Second World War.
