Carlsbad Caverns National Park:
Located near Carlsbad, New Mexico, the Carlsbad Caverns National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is home to one of the most famous cave systems in the world, the “Big Cave.” It is one of the most visited places in the state. There is a wide variety of animals and birds in the cave that include raccoons, ring-tail cats, skunks, and bats.
Bluewater Lake State Park:
Founded in 1937, the Bluewater State Park is located in the Zuni Mountains, New Mexico. It is administered by New Mexico State Parks Division. The park offers many recreation opportunities like fishing, camping, hiking, and bird watching. There are abut sixty-eight species of birds in the park. The lake freezes in the winter months making ice fishing popular.
The Museum of International Folk Art:
Established in 1953, the Museum of International Folk Art is an art museum in Santa Fe, New Mexico, USA. The museum houses the world’s largest collections of international folk art. It has more than 135,000 artifacts. The museum is administered by the New Mexico Department of Cultural Affairs. The most notable exhibit in the museum is the Neutrogena Collection that consists of more than 2,500 textiles, ceramics and carvings from all over the world.
White Sands National Monument:
Situated in the southeastern region of New Mexico, the White Sands National Monument is one of the most spectacular sights in the state. The monument comprises the largest gypsum sand dune field in the world. The park has a rich wildlife, plant species, and geological features. It is well known for its Sunset Stroll Nature Walk held in the evenings throughout the year.

Located in the northwestern New Mexico, the El Malpais National Monument is a historical site. It was established in 1987 and has been inhabited for over 10,000 years. The monument gets its name from the rough lava that makes up the region. The place is famous for its variety of wildlife that include golden eagles, red-tailed hawks, scorpions, spiders, bobcats, prairie falcons, great-horned owls, black bears, rattlesnakes, mule deer, elk, coyotes, and mountain lions.
