Jackson is the capital of the U.S state of Mississippi. Founded in the year 1792, the city was named Parker’ville. After it was originally planned in April 1822, it received the name ‘Jackson’ in honor of Andrew Jackson, the seventh President of the United States. It is one of the county seats of Hinds County besides Raymond. It is also regarded as the largest city of the Mississippi. It is now a regional trading center and distribution point.

Lake Jackson
Lake Jackson boasts of being the largest lake in Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming.
