About the Rivers in Idaho

The Idaho river map highlights the several rivers, lakes and streams of the state. Idaho is drained by many rivers. Some of the important rivers flowing through the State of Idaho are Coeur d’Alene River, St. Maries River, Snake River, Kootenai River and St. Joe River. The Snake River is 1,671 kilometer long and flows through Idaho, Wyoming and Washington.

Popularly referred to as the ‘River of No Return’, Salmon River divides the southern part of Idaho from the northern part of the state. Some of the other important rivers of Idaho are Payette, Clearwater, Boise, Weiser, Selway, Lochsa, Lemini, Owyhee, Bruneau and Bear. The State of Idaho has several lakes.

Bear Lake, Big Lost, Pend Oreille River, Coeur d’Alene Lake and American Falls Reservoir are few of the major lakes of the state. Lake Pend Oreille covers a total surface area of 466 square kilometer. Priest Lake, Dworshak Reservoir, Cascade Reservoir, Blackfool Reservoir and Grays Lake are few of the other notable lakes of Idaho.
