Clark County is a county in southwestern Washington. With more than 450,000 inhabitants, it is the fifth most populous county in the state. Named after American explorer William Clark, the county was created on August 20, 1845. Its county seat and the largest city is Vancouver. The Columbia River defines the east and south lines of the county.
Vancouver, the fourth largest city in Washington, is the seat of Clark County. The city is home to the Fort Vancouver National Historic Site. Interstate 5 and State Route 14 are major highways in the county. Battle Ground Lake State Park offers a swimming area, campgrounds, cabin rentals, and multi-purpose trails. Clark County Historical Museum, Pearson Air Museum, Lewisville Park, and Lacamas Lake are other popular destinations in the county.
