The Alaska Road Map offers comprehensive information on the state and national highways running through Alaska.

Alaska Road Network

The well laid-out network of roads connects different parts of Alaska with each other, as well as linking the state to Canada and the rest of the United States. The northern end of Alaska is connected to the southern part of the state by State Roads 9, 11, 3, 7, and 4. State Roads 5, 2, 1, 8, 10, and 6 join the eastern and the western parts of the state. There is a total of 1522 miles of highway throughout the state. Alaska’s important cities are connected by the state’s various state and national highways. The National Highway System of Alaska includes interstate routes, defense routes, and other prominent routes that connect the state with the other parts of the United States. The ADOT & PF is the owner of most of the Alaska’s national highways. The Alaska Highway System comprises only those roads that run through the state and join the recreational centers or tourist spots of Alaska. The Alaska Highway System is not part of the state’s National Highway System. The Alaska State Map clearly indicates the routes of the national and state highways.
