US Route 60
US Route 60 is one of the most significant routes of the United States Numbered Highways, and covers a total length of 2,670 miles. The fifth longest route in the country, US Route 60, travels through nine states; Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, Missouri, Illinois, Kentucky, West Virginia, and Virginia. Route 60, which has been in existence since 1926, is an east-west highway with its eastern terminus located at Virginia Beach, Virginia, and its western terminus in the southwest of Brenda, Arizona. Initially, the western terminus of the route was located in the Californian city of Los Angeles, however, following the removal of the highway designation from California in 1964, it was moved to the new location of Brenda.
