US Route 21
The US Route 21, is a relatively short route stretching for some 394 miles. But it is one of the most important routes of the US Highway system. Starting from Hunting Island State Park, in South Carolina, and wrapping up in the town of Wytheville, in Virginia, the route also passes through North Carolina.
While traveling on the US Route 21, you can stop at the many attractions located along the way. A few options include, the New River State Park, Blue Ridge Parkway, Stone Mountain State Park, Jefferson National Forest, and Crystal Spring Recreation Area, among others. Some of the cities and towns along Route 21 are; Beaufort, Port Royal, Yemassee, Smoaks, Branchville, Gaston, in South Carolina. In North Carolina, the route passes through Charlotte, Mooresville, Statesville, and Harmony. In Virginia, it goes through the town of Independence. Some of the major junctions are I-95, I-26, I-20, I-77, I-85, and I-40.
