US Interstate 78 Highway Map
Interstate 78, also commonly called as I-78 is a major road that links ports in the New Jersey and New York City area to point west. It basically is an interstate highway, located in the Northeast United States, which runs 144 miles from Interstate 81, which is on the North-east of the Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and even the western and northern New Jersey towards the Holland Tunnel as well as Lower Manhattan in New York City.
Extent of I-78 Highway
I-78 is an east-west route that stretches all the way from Union Township, Lebanon County, Pennsylvania to New York City. I-78 is called as the Phhilipsburg-Newark Expressway as well as the Newark Bay extension of the New Jersey Turnpike in New Jersey. The area covering Phillipsburg-Newark Expressway is formally called as the Lightning Division memorial Highway, which usually runs from the Phillipsburg area east all through the rural areas of western New Jersey before it enters to the suburban areas of the Somerset County. The road crosses the Watchung Mountains, which finally widens into a local-express lane that configures at Route 24 and continues all through the urban area touching to Newark. After this, I-78 intersects the mainline of the New jersey Turnpike (which is also called as I-95) and becomes the Newark bay Extension, crosses the Newark Bay bridge and continues till Jersey City.
