There are currently two national park service sites in Vermont which includes Appalachian National Scenic Trail and Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller National Historical Park. The Appalachian National Scenic Trail passes through 14 states, one of which one Vermont. There are 150 miles of trail in the state of Vermont. The trail follows part of the Long Trail and the ridges of the Green Mountain. The trail summits Stratton Mountain, Glastonbury Mountain, and Killington Peak.

This site is 634 acres of managed forest, dairy farm, and the boyhood home of George Perkins Marsh in Windsor County, Vermont. The George Perkins Marsh boyhood home was home to several important families in the history of the development. This home is considered an architectural masterpiece right at the heart of the park. The mansion and land were donated to the people of the United States in 1992. The park was established on August 26,1992.

- Take a walk in the Woods: walk through one of Vermont’s most beautiful landscapes, under the shade of sugar maples and 400-year-old hemlocks. There are winding woodlands, carriage roads and trails. On the gentle slopes of Mount Tom one can find mountain pastures, a mysteriously-named pond, and spectacular views of nearby hills and Valleys.
- Winter Sports: Cross-Country Skiing and snowshoeing are popular winter activities in the park. In Woodstock the average winter snowfall is 80 inches. The Woodstock Resort Corporation holds an easement on all of the park’s Carriage roads and trails for winter use. The Resort’s Nordic Center maintains and grooms over 20 kilometres/12 miles of park trails as part of its larger Nordic trail network. Ski passes from the Nordic Center are only required to use groomed trails.
