  • Catoctin Mountain Park:

  • Assateague Island National Seashore :

One can explore sandy beaches, salt marshes, maritime forests, and coastal bays. One can go fishing and crabbing. Horseback Riding is allowed seasonally along the beach in the Over Sand Vehicle (OSV) zone.

Providing canal travel options between Cumberland and Washington DC, the park today showcases aqueducts and locks that were used in the ancient period.
