South Korea’s largest theme park, Everland, is home to thrill rides, a zoo, and a water park. Its original name was Yongin Jayeon Nongwon but to make it easier for international visitors, the company changed its name to Everland. The amusement park houses over 40 rides and attractions.
Everland Attractions
One of Everland’s main attractions is South Korea’s first wooden roller coaster, the T Express, which is the fastest roller coaster in Asia with speeds up to 200 kilometers (120 miles) per hour. The T Express, which opened in 2006, is also one of the steepest wooden roller coasters in the world, with a 77 degree incline.
Everland’s Global Village (Jigu Maul) gives visitors a ride around the world, with dolls and landscapes from places on every continent. Zoo-Topia has safari rides, animal performances, and a petting zoo. The water park at Everland is called Caribbean Bay, and is the largest water park in the country with several indoor and outdoor attractions.
Everland Speedway conducts car racing year-round. It is also the first racing track built in Korea.
Spooky’s Fun House takes you to a magical journey led by a cute little ghost. Fun sounds and visual effects are created by tapping on bells, passing through corridors and pushing photo frames.
The Safari World is loved by kids for its exhibits of white tigers, tigers, lions and bears. Seeing the success of the Safari World, the park has also opened Herbivore Safari in April 2010.
Beautiful flower arrangements and scenic gardens embellish the Everland Resort. Snow Sled, Fortress, Aquatic Center, and Ho-Am Art Museum are some other attractions at the park.
