Swarovski Kristallwelten aka Swarovski Crystal Worlds is a swanky museum with crystal-themed displays. Swarovski has established global leadership in the production of precision-cut crystal. Located next to the Schönbrunn Palace, the Swarovski Crystal Worlds has a nice entrance with an imposing fountain that gushes out of the Giant’s mouth and plummets into a scenic pool. The landscape surrounding the pool is full of surprises.
Enter the magical museum to revel the sight of 14 Chambers of Wonder designed by the multimedia artist André Heller. Inside the Giant you would see a 3D projection of the Planet of Crystals, healing crystals placed in an enormous kaleidoscope of crystals, called Crystaloscope, and a Crystal Dome that shows the inner structure of the crystal in 590 mirrors that span over the walls. The CAFÉ-terra at the museum offers delectable choices of international and seasonal cuisine to the visitors.
The section Winter’s Dream designed by Alexander McQueen and Tord Boontje is a recreation of the winter forest using ice and many Swarovski crystals. Another major attraction at the museum is the Mechanical Theater, designed by Jim Whiting. The pants dance in this theater, and an Adonis comes to life. This futuristic theater is loved by many of the visitors. Crystal Calligraphy, Ice Passage, La Primadonna Assoluta, the Giants Belongings, 55 Million Crystals, Reflections, and Crystal Forest are some other interesting parts of the museum. The Company also conducts several programs year round to allure the visitors.
For Shopaholics, Swarovski brings its assorted range of products in the form of jewelry, beauty, home and interior, objects and figurines, accessories, and optics under one roof – “Crystal Stage”. The items may appear a bit expensive here. Shop at your own discretion.
