Glasgow, the capital of Scotland has made quick strides from being the industrial heart Great Britain to a being a UNESCO certified city of culture, design and creativity. Riverside Museum
This interesting museum, as the name suggests, is located on the banks of the river. Housing an exclusive collection of several locomotives, automobiles, prams, etc., the museum offers stunning views of the Rivers Clyde and Kelvin. It is the best place to learn how the transportation system evolved in Glasgow. It is a huge museum, so if you feel hungry, there is a cafe at the museum to satiate your hunger.
Glenlee – The Tall Ship at Riverside
Located next to the Riverside Museum, the Tall Ship named Glenlee is a delight for the people who dream of becoming a sailor. Even if you are a Software Engineer by profession or a Doctor, there is a hidden desire to become one of the crew members of “Sindbad the Sailor”, or “Pirates of the Caribbean”. So, if you too feel the same way, you must visit this historical ship Glenlee.
Glasgow Science Centre
Another interesting attraction in Glasgow is its Science Centre. Featuring an upside down building and an egg-shaped theater, the science center is a hub of activities. Watch a movie at the IMAX theater, or climb up the country’s tallest tower, see the interesting exhibits at the Science Mall, or experience a 3D molecular journey. A plethora of activities, just in one place!
Burrell Collection
From the Egyptian vessels to the Chinese ceramics, to the Greece and Roman artifacts, the Burrell Collection has it all for people gifted with an aesthetic appeal. A tour of the Burrell Collection would be a journey into the past. Besides glancing at the collections in the museum, you can also take part in the events or activities conducted at the museum.
Kelvingrove Art Gallery
Featuring an imposing Gothic architecture, the Kelvingrove Art Gallery houses unique exhibits, such as, Avant Armour, Dutch Gallery, Christ of St John of the Cross, the Bees, etc. This museum also houses Spitfire LA198. Happy touring!
