The Bahamas is an island country situated in the Atlantic Ocean. It has more than 700 islands that offer fun and adventure to visitors. Besides various sports activities, the Bahamas also boast of a plethora of interesting places. I have gathered a list of five places that you must not miss on your tour to the Bahamas.

Atlantis Paradise Island

Atlantis Paradise Island – a water-park loved by Children and Adults alike.

The Atlantis Paradise Island in Bahamas is a representation of the fictional city of Atlantis. This waterpark is loved by both the children and adults. It is a magical place. This fabled world is a perfect vacation spot as you get free of all cares and worries when you are on Atlantis Paradise Island. It is not just an ultimate family destination, but is a relaxing spot for couples as well. Visitors enjoy golfing, culinary tours, casinos and nightlife on the island. This is also a perfect setting for a beach wedding.

Dean’s Blue Hole

Plunge into the world’s deepest blue hole named as the Dean’s Blue Hole. It has an entrance below the sea level. This 202-meter deep blue hole is located on Long Island in Bahamas. It derives its name from the last name of local property owner. The sea water in this blue hole is tranquil. You will be able to see young tarpons (fishes) and some turtles in the blue hole.

Blue Lagoon Island

Blue Lagoon Island  – one of the best places to see Dolphins!

The Blue Lagoon Island, also called Salt Cay, is one of Nassau’s popular natural attractions. This island is owned by a local family. It has become the best place for dolphin sightseeing. The marine mammal facility of Dolphin Encounters offers enlightening programs and educational excursions for both the children and adults. It is a must-visit destination.

Athol Island

Enjoy snorkeling at Athol Island

The Athol Island is located at a distance of three-quarters of a mile east of the Paradise Island. Nobody lives on this island. Being a division of the National Marine Park, it is used for snorkeling. It is a bit cheaper than the Paradise Island. Visit the island during the spring and fall as it is warm.

Exumas

Exumas – Where you’ll find pigs swimming!

Comprising over 360 islands, the Exumas in Bahamas offer a horde of activities including sailing, yachting, snorkeling, fishing, etc. These islands are interesting as you would not only see gulls around the beach, but the pigs swimming in the crystal clear waters of the ocean. Don’t miss this wonderful sight!
