Hong Kong also loves to keep its vegetarian visitors happy

In a city like Hong Kong, which is surrounded by sea, it is natural that there are plentiful options available for seafood lovers. From small road-side shops to plush fine dining restaurants, Hong Kong has almost every carnivorous option available to satiate the gastronomic needs of meat lovers. However, there are a lot of travelers, tourists and locals like me, who are hardcore vegetarians and often think about getting food of their choice. So what should they do? Well, do not get disappointed. Even hardcore non-vegetarian food meccas across the globe have options available for vegetarian food lovers too. You just need to explore a little bit to reach the right place and savor the food of your choice.

I always make it a point to browse for vegetarian restaurants in the vicinity of my hotel or around the place I travel, and till date, I have never been disappointed. www.happycow.com is one such site which veggie food-lovers would love to explore, and choose a dining place from the multiple options available.. I visited quite a few areas in Hong Kong during my 5-day trip and I tried different options. I stayed in the Wan Chai area of Hong Kong Island and I preferred to visit an Indian vegetarian restaurant “Khana Khazana”. I discovered this place online and found out that it was at a walking distance from my hotel.

After 15 minutes of walking, I reached this restaurant which is located at Luard Road in Wan Chai district. It was quite pleasant to enter this nice cozy restaurant located at first floor of Dannies House building. The ambiance was quite elegant and peaceful. I was offered a menu card and I started browsing through the various options available. While I was still looking at the menu card, the restaurant manager came and suggested that I go for the buffet lunch, and directed me to have a look at the spread. Without giving it a second thought, I immediately opted to go for this buffet lunch, which offered more than 12 options to choose from- including starters, main course and dessert. Wow… what a satisfying experience I had at the buffet. Above all, I really appreciated the friendly staff there, who served me very well. Overall, I was impressed with this first Indian vegetarian restaurant I tried at Hong Kong. Give it a try once and you will love it.

Day one was quite satisfactory in terms of enjoying a vegetarian meal of my choice and that too, so sumptuous and full of variety. Next day, I planned to visit the Tsim Sha Tsui area of Kowloon Peninsula for my whole excursion trip and the first thing I located was a vegetarian restaurant where I could have my lunch and dinner. Here my choice was “Branto Indian Vegetarian Restaurant” located at Lock road, Tsim Sha Tsui area. During evenings, it is always advisable to reach here before time as there may be some waiting time due to peak hour rush. Serving almost all kinds of popular South and North Indian dishes, this place was an instant hit with me. I had a nice and filling Indian Thali for my lunch and dinner. I recommend this place to all vegetarian food lovers. Try it once when you are in Hong Kong. You will love it!
