World Energy Balance Map shows a world map where the countries have been shown using different colors according to the energy availability in that part of the world.Difference between energy production and energy consumption in millions of tones of oil equivalent (MtOe) as in the year 1997 has been shown in the map.
In some countries the supply and demand of energy are at a balance. Greenland, Western Sahara, Mauritania, Niger, Chad, Democratic Republic of Congo, Namibia, Botswana, Madagascar, Malawi, Somalia, Ethiopia, Zambia, Namibia, Botswana, Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia are countries with energy balance.
USA, Brazil, India, Pakistan, most of Europe faces energy deficit. Canada, Mexico, Venezuela, Colombia, Equador, Russia, China, Australia, South Africa etc are countries that have energy surplus. The World Energy Balance Map also shows the principal oilfields, secondary oilfields, principal coalfields, secondary coalfields, principal gasfields and secondary gasfields of the world.
