Huge 6.6 M Earthquake Strikes Russia‘s Eastern Kamchatka Region
A strong earthquake of 6.6 magnitude struck the eastern Kamchatka region in Russia at 05:10 GMT on Wednesday. The depth of the quake was 22 km off the coast of Bering Sea.
Reports say that it could possibly trigger local tsunami waves of up to 1.5 metres. However, Hawaii-based Pacific Tsunami Warning Centre mentioned that there is no imminent threat.
